Holocaust Distortion – from data to policy solutions

Expert debate and workshop on counteracting memory falsification.

events Programme

Responding to the growing challenges of Holocaust distortion and denial, we convened an expert discussion in Berlin focused on data driven approaches and practical response mechanisms. The event was organised by the Jewish Association Czulent as a space for in depth exchange between researchers, practitioners and civil society actors working at the intersection of memory, education and human rights.

A central element of the programme was the presentation of the report Holocaust Distortion in Europe Documentation and Analysis from Five Countries, which introduced comparative findings and methodological tools for monitoring and analysing distortion trends across Europe. The report provided a foundation for discussions on how data can meaningfully inform policy making and institutional responses.

The roundtable was followed by a hybrid interactive workshop in which participants worked in groups to translate research into practice. Through stakeholder mapping, journey mapping of distortion narratives, identifying gaps in current monitoring and response systems, and developing future oriented scenarios, the workshop fostered concrete, resilience focused strategies. The event ultimately aimed to bridge data, policy and practice, strengthening cross sector collaboration in safeguarding historical truth and responding to contemporary antisemitism.
