Interactive monodrama on violence, power and responsibility
events Programme
A series of presentations of the performance If I Had a Gun, I’d Take Them All Down was organized by the FestivALT Association in 2025 in Lublin, Warsaw, and Krakow as part of the activities of the ReActMem project. The work takes the form of a monodrama combining live performance with large-scale video projections, creating an intense and immersive experience for the audience.
A central element of the performance is a visual journey through contemporary Kyiv. The city becomes both a real backdrop and a symbolic landscape shaped by conflict, memory, and political tensions. The narrative guides the audience through stories connected to political violence, individual responsibility, and the moral ambiguities of contemporary political processes.
By organizing the presentations of the performance in Lublin, Warsaw, and Krakow, we created a space for reflection on the question of what price we are willing to pay in the pursuit of building a more just world. Each performance was followed by a discussion with the artists, allowing the audience to engage in deeper dialogue about the ethical and political challenges of our time.
The performance became a starting point for conversations about contemporary conflicts, the responsibility of individuals in the face of violence, and the role of art in addressing complex social and political issues. By combining performance, visual imagery, and narrative, the event created a space for collective reflection on power structures, the memory of violence, and the limits of individual choices.
