Inclusive commemoration of Holocaust victims in Głodno
In November, the Zapomniane Foundation team, together with local partners, carried out a green commemoration of a grave and a forest hideout in the town of Głodno (borough of Łaziska). Thanks to cooperation with (for) landscape architect Natalia Budnik, we marked the location of the dugout/burial with plants so that it would fit into the local landscape. During the unveiling ceremony of the monument/tombstone, together with the local community, we commemorated 10 people of Jewish nationality. The ceremony was attended by residents, youth and teachers from four nearby schools, representatives of institutions, local and regional authorities and the clergy - a rabbi, bishop and parish priest of Łaziska, representatives of the Volunteer Fire Department.

SZUL. Stanisław Wygodzki. Reminiscence about a writer from Będzin
A unique event dedicated to the work of Stanisław Wygodzki – a renowned writer, poet, children's author, and translator from Będzin – took place at SZUL. The two-day program, organized by the Foundation in collaboration with Izabela Tumas-Matuszewska, aimed to revive interest in Wygodzki’s legacy, once widely read in schools but now largely forgotten. His writing often returned to his hometown, which he described with both affection and anguish. Wygodzki’s post-war work grappled with themes of the Holocaust, politics, and the suffering of the individual, leaving a profound mark on Polish literature.

“Poland is Not Yet Lost”
"Jeszcze Polska... (Poland is not Yet Lost)" is an interactive, satirical, and futuristic theatrical performance that imagines a world where the State of Israel has been destroyed, leading to the return of three million Jews to Poland. The plot explores a Poland governed by Jewish leaders, including the country's president, portrayed by Maciej Stuhr (played by the real-life actor himself). Stuhr's decision to convert to Judaism inspires four million non-Jewish Poles to follow in his footsteps. In this alternate reality, the audience is invited to witness a crucial moment in Polish-Jewish history: a referendum that will decide whether to establish a new Jewish state in Poland.
